Everton are reportedly back in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Idrissa Gueye. The move is on despite numerous reports claiming that the deal is off.

Frank Lampard sees him as one of the priority signings for this summer transfer window. The midfielder is not yet open to a return to his former club.

EVERTON AND IDRISSA GUEYE TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY

According to reports, Everton are again going to start negotiating for Idrissa Gueye. The deal was almost over very quickly. However, the signing of Amadou Onana and slow negotiations with PSG put the deal on the back burner. Although, it looks like the Toffees have not stopped the talks for the midfielder. The report also states that intense negotiations will start in the coming days.

Another reason for the slow deal is also that the midfielder is not sure about the move. However, Frank Lampard and the management are working to convince him. The Toffees desperately need bodies in the midfield. Last season, it was quite evident that the midfield could not just attack nor defend the ball. Hence, Everton were also close to relegation. However, they just survived the drop.

THE TOFFEES ARE ALSO WORKING ON MULTIPLE DEALS

According to multiple records, Frank Lampard is ready to get a number of deals done before the end of the transfer window. Everton are also looking to sign a striker and an attacking midfielder. They were also linked with the likes of Miguel Almiron and Joao Pedro. However, both the deals will be explored if Anthony Gordon leaves for Chelsea.

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Anthony Gordon. Gordon is also keen to sign for the Blues. However, the Toffees are not ready to accept 60 million for their winger. Frank Lampard reportedly wants to build a team around Gordon. Anthony Gordon has been their most dangerous forward due to injuries to Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Hence, the club are reluctant to sell its star forward.

Everton have had a difficult start to the Premier League. They lost their first match of the season against Chelsea. Although, they could manage to snatch a draw against Nottingham Forest. Hence, Lampard needs the new signings to come and Anthony Gordon to stay.
