The Manchester City prodigy Phil Foden is injured and he might miss the opening weeks of the new season. According to Sky Sports, the injury is likely to rule Foden out until September. The Manchester City and England midfielder is troubled by the problem that ruled him out of the Euro 2020 final.

Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne is also set to miss the start of the Premier League season with the ankle problem sustained with Belgium. Manchester City have signed Jack Grealish for a whopping £100m. Jack Grealish would like to fit in the team and this might be the perfect opportunity for me.

Which games would Foden miss for City?

Foden is likely to miss City’s first three league matches of the season. Manchester City will be playing against Spurs, Norwich, and Arsenal in the opening three games. Meanwhile, the winger will return against Leicester City on September 11.

Although Foden is a vital player for City they have a lot of players that to play in his role. Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, and record signing Jack Grealish all could play in his position.

Meanwhile, Foden has spoken about playing with his England teammate Jack Grealish. He said, “I am really happy he has signed here, and hopefully, I can just get back playing with him and enjoy my football. He’s fearless on the ball and can change a game on his own. He’s a really special player for us and he’s going to be key for us.”

Phil Foden is a very important part of Manchester City and his absence will be missed. He scored 16 goals and provided 10 assists in 50 appearances for the club. Meanwhile, City play their first game of the season against Spurs and will want to start the season with a win.
