According to The Guardian, Atlético will let Saúl leave on a season-long loan before the transfer window closes this Tuesday. Saul only wants to move to Premier League. Chelsea and Manchester United are the clubs leading the race to sign Saul.
West Ham’s pricing for Declan Rice has likely ruled out Chelsea from the race. Declan Rice has been Chelsea’s target from the previous window. But Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rüdiger’s contracts are expiring next summer and Chelsea might not make a huge signing. Hence, signing Saúl on loan could make sense for Chelsea. Moreover, there have been sources in Spain that say Manchester United are also in the race for Saul.
Apart from Manchester United, which other clubs are in talks with Saul?
According to ESPN, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is happy with his squad and is not pushing for Saul. The Red Devils are reportedly preparing to sign Saul this transfer window on a loan. Moreover Manchester United also want to sign Kieran Trippier along with Saul. Arsenal have shown interest in the former Tottenham fullback.
Moreover United have Ruben Neves and Eduardo Camavinga on the list too. Eduardo Camavinga has only a year left on his contract. Rennes value the French prodigy at €30m. Paris Saint Germain also want to sign him and currently are leading the race.
But According to The Sun, Manchester United have ‘distanced themselves’ from a move for Saul. This makes Chelsea the front runner for Saul’s signature this summer.
