We have witnessed one of the most amazing starts to the Premier League campaign. The month of August was full of promises and fulfilled all of our expectations. As the month of September starts, we will take a look at the highlights of August. Further rate Premier League team of the month.
Premier League Highlights: Gameweek 1
Manchester United were the best team on Matchweek 1. The Red Devils sealed a thumping 5-1 win over their rivals Leeds United. Moreover, Liverpool and Chelsea also put in amazing attacking displays. The biggest surprise of the week was Brentford’s debut in the Premier League. Brentford marked their Premier League debut with a huge win against Arsenal.
Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba were standout players for Gameweek 1. Bruno Fernandes scored a hattrick against Leeds. Meanwhile, the most surprising fact is that he scored 3 goals from an xG of 0.6. Moreover, another Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba provided four assists in a single game.
West Ham were willing to bring in Jesse Lingard on a permanent deal. But they did not make a move for the player. They decided to trust Saïd Benrahma and he slotted into the no. 10 role seamlessly. He scored a goal and also provided an assist. Another West Ham player made it to the headlines Michail Antonio. Even though he missed a penalty he scored a goal and assisted 2.
Sergi Canos marked Brentford’s Premier League debut with a smashing win against Arsenal. He was brilliant in defense as well as in Brentford’s attack. Moreover, he scored Brentford’s first-ever Premier League goal.

Premier League Highlights: Gameweek 2
The Gameweek 2 kicked off with Liverpool welcoming their fans back to Anfield. Diogo Jota opened the scoring for The Reds. Later Jota’s goal was followed by Sadio Mane’s strike to seal the deal for Liverpool against Burnley. During the fixture, Liverpool fullbacks were in top form. Both fullbacks assisted the attackers in their win against Burnley.
The best player of the GW 2 was West Ham’s danger man Michail Antonio. He scored two goals and provided an assist in an emphatic win against 10 man Leicester City.
Meanwhile, the champions Manchester City hammered the newly-promoted side Norwich City at the Ethiad. City scored five past Norwich’s defense. Meanwhile, City’s star player was Gabriel Jesus. Jesus didn’t score but was heavily involved in the game. The Brazilian played on the right-wing and seemed to relish his new role.
Next up, Chelsea played against their London rivals Arsenal as Lukaku made his second debut for The Blues. Chelsea’s right wing-back Reece James registered a goal and an assist in Chelsea’s victory over Arsenal. His attacking ventures were properly rewarded with a goal and an assist. Moreover, Lukaku scored on his return to the Premier League.

Premier League Highlights: Gameweek 3
Manchester City made it back-to-back 5-0 victories. City took on Arsenal in the final Gameweek before the international break. Arsenal’s defeat to Manchester City makes them sit on the bottom of the table. They have failed to score a single goal or even win a single game.
Chelsea faced Liverpool as the game ended in a draw. Salah and Kai Havertz were on the scoresheet. Manchester United sneaked a win past Wolves at Molineux. Mason Greenwood was the scoresheet. He has now scored in each of United’s Premier League games this season.
The standout player of the week was again Michail Antonio scoring and assisting in a draw against Crystal Palace. In the same game, Crystal Palace’s Conor Gallagher scored a brace to ensure a point against West Ham.

Looking at all the Gameweeks we have shortlisted these 11 players for the Premier League team of the month.
Since Tottenham have been successful in not conceding a single goal for a month. The Spurs backline makes it into the Team of the Month. As we feature Hugo Lloris in goal and the center back pairing of Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has again been a creative force for Liverpool and has created more clear-cut chances (3) than any other player in the league. Unfourtanley he has only one assist to show for his talents. Marcos Alonso joins Arnold in the fullback position to complete the defence. Alonso scored a marvellous free-kick against Crystal Palace in the season opener.
Meanwhile, Saïd Benrahma, Michail Antonio, Mason Greenwood, and Mohammed Salah all make it into the Team of the Month. Along with the midfield duo of Paul Pogba and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.
