Things that were spotted from Liverpool training as players return for the new season.

Liverpool

Liverpool started their training for the 2022-23 season on Monday. Jurgen Klopp’s squad returned to the training ground as pre-season got underway.

Some of the players such as Mo Salah, Virgil Van Djik, and Trent-Alexander Arnold won’t be back until late this week at Liverpool training. They have been given extra time off as they were on international duty. But here are some of the things that were spotted.

New boys get started at the Liverpool training ground

The new signings arrived at the training ground. Fabio Carvalho’s official unveiling took place at the weekend. The attacking midfielder was announced as a Liverpool player in May. However, pictures and interviews took place this weekend. The teenager linked with his new teammates on what was an exciting day for him at the Liverpool training ground

The same can be said for Calvin Ramsay. The young Scottish right-back joined from Aberdeen. He was doing some exercises with Luiz Diaz. The pair are also now itching to get on to the grass to show their ability. However, there was no sign of their marquee signing Darwin Nunez at Liverpool training. Although there is nothing to worry about as he has been given extra time off after representing Uruguay during the international break.

SOME FORGOTTEN PLAYERS AND SOME ACADEMY PLAYERS WERE ALSO INVOLVED

The pre-season also makes the fans remember about the forgotten players on the books of the club. Liverpool also has two of them including Ben Davies and Nat Philips. Last season both were on loan to Sheffield United and Bournemouth respectively. Although, both of the center-backs are going to leave once again. The pair is currently down in the pecking order with Van Djik, Konate, Matip, and Joe Gomez as center-back options.

Pre-season training yesterday also saw some involvement of the academy players training with the first-team squad. Kaide Gordon and Luke Chambers were the most notable. However, Luke Chambers was the most surprising. The player should have taken take time off as he had just helped England win the U-19 Euros. But rather than a deserved break, Chambers instead showed his commitment levels by checking in to Kirby training ground.

However, the academy and forgotten players will be keen to test themselves against the likes of Nunez, Salah, and Diaz in the training ground. The players have to start training at high levels as they prepare for a long season ahead.
