Fulham are reportedly showing interest in signing Arsenal defender Cedric in the January transfer window. The Gunners are also open to selling him in the January transfer window.

However, they will only allow him to leave the club if a replacement arrives. A report also claims that the Gunners are ready to do sale deal of Cedric for a price of as low as 4 million-5 million.

FULHAM AND CEDRIC TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY

According to reports, Fulham are showing interest in signing Arsenal defender Cedric. The report also claims that Fulham manager Marco Silva wants to strengthen the right full-back position. Hence, Cedric is one of the options for them. The report also claims that he is also open to a move in the January transfer window. Hence, it looks like all things depend on the stance of Gunners for the sale. The report also claims that the Gunners are ready to sell him for 5 million.

However, a Sky Sports reporter has said that Cedric will only leave if they sign a replacement. He further said,

“There’s a lot of interest in Cedric and my understanding is he wants to move on, but Arsenal won’t allow that unless they bring someone else in.”

Hence, Arsenal will have a lot of decisions to make in the January transfer window. This is because Fulham are keeping their options open in January. They are also monitoring the situation of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Rick Karsdorp. However, Manchester United and Roma will only sell them respectively on permanent deals.

ARSENAL SHOULD KEEP THE PORTUGUESE DEFENDER AT THE CLUB

Many Arsenal are saying that the club should not allow Cedric to leave in January. This is because of the busy schedule in the second half of the season. Therefore, the Gunners will want each of the players available to play during their busy schedule. Another problem is the January transfer window budget. The report also claims that the Gunners are focusing on signing a midfielder, a right-winger, and a striker. Hence, they should not sell Cedric. This is because they will also have to waste their time on finding a right-back replacement.

At the moment a striker and a deal for Mykhaylo Mudryk is the priority for Arsenal. It is because of the long-term injury to their star striker Gabriel Jesus. Hence, they need to sign a striker to compete with Eddie Nketiah for the starting spot. They also need a brilliant player in the form of Mykhaylo Mudryk to compete with Saka for the right-wing spot. They also need a midfielder to compete with Thomas Partey in the midfield department for the remainder of the season.

Hence, it is clear that Arsenal have bigger priorities than signing a right-back in January. They also need to be aware of the injury record of Takheiro Tomiyasu. Hence, Cedric can be a good utility option in the second half of the season for Mikel Arteta. Therefore, Fulham will have to make an irresistible bid to Arsenal for them to reject it.
