Arsenal defender got important minutes in the Premier League win against Brighton. The Japanese defender came on as a substitute to Ben White in the second half.

Hence, the Gunners won the game 4-2 against the Seagulls in a high-scoring thriller. This win also ensured that the Gunners stayed seven points clear of second-placed Manchester City.

ARSENAL WIN BIG AGAINST BRIGHTON

Arsenal won the Premier League game against Brighton in a high-scoring thriller. They won the match by the score line of 4-2. Hence, this win also ensured that the Gunners are on the top of the Premier League. They are now seven points clear off second-placed Manchester City. This is after City’s 1-1 home draw against Everton. Hence, it is clear that the Gunners now have a substantial advantage over their close rivals. However, they cannot rest with the seven-point lead.

This is because their next match is the home match against high-flying Newcastle United. However, Arsenal will have nothing to fear due to the brilliant form of their forwards department. However, they will have to take care of their defensive organization in the last minutes. This is because they conceded 2 goals that they could have avoided. Although, they will be happy with the goals of Gabriel Martinelli, Saka, Odegaard, and Eddie Nketiah in the win.

TAKHEIRO TOMIYASU GETS IMPORTANT MINUTES IN THE BANK AS A SUBSTITUTE

Arsenal also had another positive in the win against Brighton. The Japanese right-back Takheiro Tomiyasu came on as a substitute for Ben White in the 60th minute. Hence, the defender got a good 30 minutes. However, he will also be disappointed with himself. He was out of position in the first goal for Brighton. Although, he will also be happy that he got important minutes before the start of the busy schedule in the 2023 year. However, this is good news for the future of Cedric Soares.

This is because Arsenal will now allow Cedric to leave the club in the January transfer window. The report earlier claimed that Arteta would keep him as Tomiyasu did not recover from his injury. However, the Japanese defender is now fully fit. Hence, it looks like Cedric might finally get his move to Fulham. Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid are also monitoring the situation. However, the defender prefers a move to Fulham as he wants to live in London and play regular football.

Hence, it looks like both Arsenal and Cedric will be happy with the recovery of Takheiro Tomiyasu. The Gunners are also currently negotiating with Fulham over the deal of Cedric. They want to sign him for 5 million. However, Fulham wants to sign him on an initial loan agreement. Hence, there is a chance that the Gunners will allow him to leave if Fulham decides to pay his full wages.
