Norwich City have signed exciting Aston Villa academy prospect Aaron Ramsey on a season-long loan deal. He will play under former Villa head coach Dean Smith.

Steven Gerrard has also pinned high hopes on the midfielder. He hopes the midfielder can be one of the most important players for the club.

The 19-year-old has had a successful summer so far. He is one of the Aston Villa players who helped England U-19s win the European Championship last season. He was also part of the pre-season tour of Australia. His performances in training and pre-season saw him extending his contract at the club. However, Gerrard currently wants the midfielder to play regularly.

Hence, he has joined Norwich City on loan for the season. The midfielder will be managed by former Aston Villa head coach Dean Smith. Dean Smith was the manager who handed him his first-team debut in a cup match against Barrow when he was the manager for Villa. The manager now believes he can help his current team achieve promotion this season.

Dean Smith also said,” Aaron trained with the first team quite a lot when I was at Villa,” Smith told Norwich’s club website. “He played during pre-season matches with us as well. He’s one that really excited myself and Shakey (assistant coach Craig Shakespeare).

He has impressed the supporters while playing for the Aston Villa youth team. His progress is also closely monitored by the faithful Villa supporters. The young midfielder speaking on the move highlighted the role Dean Smith played in helping his brother Jacob Ramsey become a regular in the first team. The midfielder now helps the loan can also help him achieve the same.

If the loan move is successful, it will hugely beneficial for all parties. Norwich City will be back in the Premier League. While Ramsey might get regular game time next season.
